We are a nationally registered charity that depends on your donations to educate, support, and advocate for the more than 3 million Canadians with food allergy. If everyone reading this page donated just $10 each, it would transform the organization and the lives of those with food allergy. Please give.
Be part of Canada’s #FoodAllergyFuture: Ways your donations will make an impact
Close to 600,000 children across Canada have food allergy. When parents first learn of their child’s life-changing diagnosis, they require relevant information to understand the condition and practical ways to live with it.
With limited access to allergists and wait times ranging from months to years, individuals and families need ongoing support on how to live safely with food allergy right from the point of diagnosis.
Donate now to help us ensure no one is left behind.
Less than 50% of individuals with food allergy have an epinephrine auto-injector. Being prepared with epinephrine auto-injectors is paramount, yet there have been challenges with consistent access to these devices.
Donate now to help us increase access to this life-saving medication and broaden education on how to recognize and treat anaphylaxis.
Food allergy is not consistently understood. A lack of understanding of the seriousness of food allergy contributes to public insensitivity, and students with food allergy can experience social exclusion and stigma in schools (1-in-3 children with food allergy report being bullied because of their food allergy).
Donate now to help us build informed and supportive communities through our AllergyAware.ca online training for schools and develop curriculum-linked programming to educate the next generation on food allergy.
Food labelling issues and variations in allergen management practices within the food industry has limited safe food options and contributed to a lack of consumer confidence in being able to assess the true risk associated with precautionary allergen labelling (“may contain” statements). Also, one-third of anaphylactic reactions in children are attributed to food labelling-related issues.
Donate now to help us make “may contain” meaningful and ensure every Canadian knows what’s in their food.
